Florida - 1898 - FLORIDA SUPPORTS THE SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR
Embarkation camps are established at Tampa, Miami and Jacksonville. Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders embarked for the war from a Florida port. After the war many soldiers who passed through Florida returned to become residents.
